U Mobile To Accelerate Second 5g Network Rollout Together With Multiple Strategic Partners

U Mobile, the award-winning mobile and digital services provider, have signed Memorandums of Understanding (MoU) with four Network Facility Providers (NFP), establishing strategic partnerships to expand 5G infrastructure that will accelerate the rollout of the second 5G network in the country.

The four NFPs are Bullish Aim, one of Malaysia’s most established telecommunication infrastructure providers; EdgePoint Towers Sdn Bhd, part of EdgePoint Infrastructure (“EdgePoint”), the ASEAN-based independent telecommunications infrastructure company; Naza Communications, a privately held telecommunications infrastructure company which is a part of the Naza Group of Companies; and OCK Group Berhad, Malaysia’s leading telecommunication network solutions provider.

Under the four MOUs, U Mobile will collaborate with the NFPs to develop a streamlined process to drive efficiency in 5G site infrastructure rollout. This involves close cooperation on information and access to tower structures, space, power and expedited site implementations to accelerate deployment of 5G sites and ultimately speed up coverage expansion in the country. Additionally, U Mobile will discuss cost efficient commercial models for various infrastructure requirements including built-to-suit sites, co-locations and site upgrades, with the goal of establishing a competitive offering with the NFPs.
